Coastal Inundation Dashboard

NOAA Tides & Currents (CO-OPS) · released Ongoing
Visit Coastal Inundation Dashboard

A station-based dashboard of real-time, forecast and historical water levels at 200+ NOAA tide gauges, with each station's minor, moderate and major flood thresholds. It shows gauge readings rather than flood-extent areas; its sea-level-rise mapping comes from NOAA's Sea Level Rise Viewer. External tool only: it is public-domain federal data, but this atlas already maps the same gauge thresholds and the Sea Level Rise Viewer, so it won’t get its own map layer.

Strengths and Limitations

Top 3 strengths
  • Live and 48-hour forecast water levels, so it answers “is it flooding now?”
  • Grounded in measured tide-gauge data
  • Flags stations that may flood in the near term
Top 3 limitations
  • Point data at gauges only, no flood-extent areas
  • No exposure or infrastructure-impact analysis
